OIL PORTRAITS ON CANVAS OR BOARD
pet portraits:
I work from your photos to create a portrait of your pet. The process is completely hand painted. The most common sizes ordered for oil paintings are from 5x7 to 9x12 inches but larger and smaller sizes are not uncommon. The lead time for oil paintings is 3-5 weeks depending on size and my availability, but can rush if necessary. Oil paint takes time to dry so that's figured into the lead time. Watercolor portraits are painted on a 5x7 folded greeting card (which comes with envelope) or a flat piece of paper, either of which can be framed in a standard store bought frame. The lead time is 1-2 weeks. After I finish the painting I will send you a photo and if you do not like it you are not obligated to buy it.
about me:
I started my career in professional theater, where I realized how much I enjoy working with my hands. I moved into film and television work in Los Angeles, shopping for Set Decoration and Props. For a few years my creative focus was on making textile art and several pieces were purchased for the permanent collection in the maternity ward of a Kaiser Permanente hospital. A couple were included in the book 500 Art Quilts and one received a judge's choice honor in Quilting Arts Magazine. More recently I've focused on drawing and painting. I also enjoy remodeling houses - planning and laying tile and flooring, designing cabinetry, and landscaping. My dogs take up the rest of my free time.
